Come experience Darjeeling

It was my first time in Darjeeling and it couldn’t have been better at the RJ Resort and spa. I was recommended by a friend so i didn’t waste anytime looking for any other places. We were in darjeeling for 2 nights and the staff at the RJ made our stay very comfortable and warm. From the welcoming staff to the warm and cozy ambience of the hotel it was well worth the stay. I would recommend this resort to any traveller going to Darjeeling as it is located in the up scale chowrasta area and everything is in close proximity with parking facility available there. A very big thanks to the charismatic owner Mohit who was all the more welcoming and took care our every need to the best of his ability. We would definitely come back and stay at the RJ resort next time im in Darjeeling.

This place had caught my eye a couple of years ago, what with its beautiful facade set against a majestic background. December 2013 afforded me the opportunity to actually stay here and revel in the luxury. From the tasteful decor to courteous service, there was no facet we felt was lacking. We were a group of nine celebrating a dear friend’s bachelor’s and the staff were kind enough to accommodate our varied requests. The breakfast served was excellent, with the offerings being well suited to cater to both a Continental as also an Indian palate. Parking too was not a problem although it does require a tad more than amateur skill. All in all, it was a most memorable stay, and we will definitely be visiting again.

…The best part of that place is the roof. Its divided into two sections. Open Air and a Sunroof. Everyone who goes to Darjeeling watches the sunrise, But only a handful watch the sunset. Its a very beautiful sight, as the day turns to night without the noise of the tourists a mellow feeling hard to describe. Sitting there with a pot of tea, watching the sunset and listening to some slow music was ultimate bliss. Sit there longer (if you have warm clothes and the power to bear the cold) you can watch the evening transform into a starry night. You can’t do anything but be mesmerized by the beauty of what you just saw. The people: Mr Tshering, is a wonderful gentleman around my Dad’s age, probably older. He is the manager there. I spent quite some time interacting with him and discussing various topics. A gem of a person.
